8-Step Exterior Wash/Dry Process: 

Step #1

Shade: Direct sunlight can cause water and cleaning solutions to evaporate quickly, leaving water spots and streaks behind. For these reasons, we ensure the vehicle is parked in a shady area. 

Step #2

Initial Inspection: We carefully complete an initial walk-around of the entire exterior including rims and tires to record any pre-existing damage so as to take the greatest care when working around these areas.

Rinse: We quick-rinse to remove as much soil as possible without touching the paint.



Quick tip: A car protected with a wax, sealant, or ceramic coating will stay clean for longer and make hand washing easier too. Many modern ceramic coatings are even self-cleaning which means water and dirt slide right off!

Step #4

Pre-treat with foam cannon: We completely coat the vehicle including rims and tires under pressure with a snow foam designed to trap and suspend dirt on contact. While foam alone won’t give you a dirt-free finish, it can remove quite a bit of loose dirt.

Step #5

Apply soap: We use a 2-bucket washing and rinsing system with grit guards in each bucket for paint; clear-coat and rim/tire cleaning. We use eco-friendly specially designed detailing soap that does not strip the polymer off of the paint which can lead to accelerated oxidation. We use custom-designed microfiber mitts that shed soil in the rinse bucket keeping the wash bucket water free of abrasive contaminants. This eliminates swirl marks and microscopic scratching from embedded soil.

Quick tip: We don’t apply pressure when hand-washing. We let the special soap do all the work as baring down can produce swirl marks and microscopic scratching. We wash from the top down and section by section. This way we don’t transfer soil onto already cleaned sections.

Step #6

Rinse: Washing and rinsing section by section keeps soap from drying prior to the rinse.

Step #7

Dry: We remove all water beads using only microfiber towels.

Inspect the vehicle: We always complete a final walk-around to ensure our work upholds the highest standards possible.
